Brigid O'Keeffe is an associate professor of history at Brooklyn College of the City University of New York.  She is a specialist on the history of late imperial Russia and the Soviet Union.  The author of New Soviet Gypsies, O'Keeffe is currently at work on a book manuscript that is tentatively titled Tongues of Fire: Esperanto and Languages of Internationalism in Revolutionary Russia. In fall 2019, she will be a Distinguished CUNY Fellow at the Advanced Research Collaborative of the CUNY Graduate Center.
